The idea of a Sci Fi documentary is intriguing! The CSL trilogy is generally known as The Cosmic trilogy, so that would avoid any dilemma about using a name Lewis would have disapproved of-but the Ransom Trilogy would work equally well.

Meantime, well done on The Fantasy Makers! I was particularly glad that for once, MacDonald got equal screen time with Lewis and Tolkien, whose work (ESPECIALLY Lewis’s) would not be the same without his influence: in Lewis’s case, it would be completely unrecognisable, such was his debt to GM.

For anyone who’d like to follow up on a reference early on in The Fantasy Makers, at 5 minutes in there’s a hugely important novel of MacDonald’s that’s alluded to but not named. The title is Robert Falconer, and it’s free on kindle. The original unabridged edition, however, contains a ton of broad Scots, which makes it inaccessible to most, so I translated it a couple of years ago. You can find it here: http://www.worksofmacdonald.com/products/robert-falconer

Thanks David. I’m going to check out Robert Falconer in the original Scots. I was able to adapt to Irvine Welsh’s Trainspotting without a cheat sheet, maybe I can do the same this time. If not I’ll check out your edition 🙂

I’ll also pass your comments to Andrew and Derek. Thanks for listening and commenting!
